Nepal is a landlocked country located in South Asia. It is located in the Himalayas and shares borders with China in the North, and to the south, east, and west by India. Nepal has an area of 147,181 square kilometers (56,827 sq mi) and a population of approximately 27 million, Nepal is the world’s 93rd largest country by land mass and the 41st most populous country in the world. The capital city of Nepal is Kathmandu.
Nepal is widely known for natural beauty and world's highest mountain peak, The Mount Everest. Eight of the fourteenth tallest mountains in the World are in Nepal: Mt. Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna.
Language
The official language of Nepal is Nepali. Besides Nepali language, there are numerous other languages spoken by people across Nepal.Some of the other widely spoken languages are Maithili, Bhojpuri, Tharu, Tamang, etc...
The currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR).
